When we say 'MAIN STREET GYM ...MORE THAN JUST A PLACE TO WORK OUT!' We mean just that ...read what some of our Members have said about our gym!
"My son, Billy, and I came to Main Street Gym with the goals of learning to lift weights the correct way and to help Billy excel at football and wrestling through strength training.
In a little over 1 ½ yrs, Billy started in varsity football as a freshman, went to districts in wrestling heavy-weight, and at age 14, he is bench pressing 300 lbs.
While all of this was happening, I got stronger by accident, just by working out with my son.
This gym has helped build more than muscle, it helps with self confidence, character, and just over all health.
Working out as a father son team has also let us talk about things that are going on in each others lives. While we haven’t found the cure for cancer or created a way for world peace, we have become tight" …and that is price-less!

"I was fifteen yrs old when I received my first weight set. I tried just about every sport you can think of; I was terrible at all of them and ended my career in each one with an injury. I was very tall and very skinny for my age, often the target of many jokes. I had the nicknames ‘stretch’ and ‘string bean’ just to name a few. But when I received that weight set at Christmas, a whole new world opened up to me. From the very first time my fingers touched the steel bar, I was addicted. I never looked back.
I eventually outgrew my weight set and ventured out to new facilities. Whereas there were many pros to each facility, they were out-weighed by the cons. Things such as the distance or lack of variety caused me to look elsewhere. I was still skinny, but I had conditioned my joints and muscles to prevent injury. I was often confused by the advice I had received from many members and trainers; they all seemed to contradict one another.
The confusion cleared up when I joined Main Street Gym this past summer. I was hooked as soon as I heard of how affordable a summer membership was. I was impressed by how clean the facility was and the variety it offered. The most valuable part of my membership was not the exercise, but the advice from the owners: Dave and Tina. I trained with Dave, (training with someone was new to me), and he directed my energy to get the most from each lift. He was always encouraging and kind, always motivating me to overcome my boundaries. Dave wanted nothing more than my success and being safe while doing. For that, I owe Dave more than I can give.
In closing, I found my sport! bodybuilding. I am competing against no one but myself, overcoming my personal boundaries and limitations. It is the perfect kind of relationship: one receives exactly what they put into it. Bodybuilding is all about the journey, and joining Main Street Gym was a great leap in the right direction. It became my second home, my place of refuge after working 13-14 hours each day and struggling to overcome a difficult break-up. I could prove myself through my shadows of doubt, and it was all thanks to the kindness of Dave as well as other members. I gained 10-15 pounds of muscle, more than I had ever gained, in just three months. I would recommend Main Street Gym to everyone and anyone. Dave became an invaluable friend and I will no doubt be returning to Main Street Gym next summer."

"I just wanted to email you to say thanks for everything this summer. Buying a membership at your gym was one of the best decisions I've made. It proved to be as your website said: "more than just a place to work out". I enjoyed the sense of community that everyone there seemed to share. Thanks again for all your advice and help this year and best of luck in all you do!"
